I can't complain this year....

About the snowfall that is. I mean I really do love snow and we sure did get it this time around. Not only did we have 24 inches the week of Christmas but we just got slammed with about 28 inches this past weekend. I think this would officially be the biggest snow storm I've ever seen. The last of which Dylan was just a bay.

Things are going well though. What is really nice is our neighbors came over to plow out our driveway. We went out ourselves a few days before the snow hit to get a snow blower but we had no such luck. Every place is sold out, every place over an hour away is sold out. Its really crazy.

I do believe he's got the hang of it!

Dylan and school that is. He brought home his 2nd report card this past Friday and he did so good on it. In 2nd grade they are still grading with N - Needs Improvement, S - Satisfactory, O- Outstanding. In the first quarter he did ok, there were 2 N's and mostly the rest S with a few O's. This quarter all the N's are gone and a lot of the S's were bumped up to O's. We are really proud of him!

His teacher's note said that he's a great student and likes to participate in discussions. He's reading fluently and his math teacher said he's also doing well. He could be a little neater and talk a little less but if those weren't issues I would be concerned they weren't talking about my son ha ha.

In 1st grade Dylan had a few issues his teacher and myself were a little worried about. He was having a lot of issues with handwriting and organizational issues with remembering instructions and to turn items in. I had talked to quite a few other parents though and they told me to keep an eye on things but he would most likely grow out of it. Sure enough it seems that is what is happening. Dylan can write neatly now (when he wants to) and while his desk isn't perfect the teacher told me he's no different than most of the other kids (boys in particular) in his class.

I also got a notice in the mail that baseball sign ups are this week so we'll be doing that this week. I have to say I'm pretty excited about him playing baseball this year. I also think he's going to be needing new equipment this year. He tried on his baseball pants from last year and they barely buttoned and were about 3 inches too short. This growth spurt coming from the boy who wore those same pants 2 years in a row (with a doubled over belt) because they were way too big.

Jordan I took to have his 3 year pictures at Walmart on Friday. He did pretty good. I had been talking up going to have his pictures taken all week and told him if he listened to her and smiled nice we could leave sooner. While I wouldn't say Jordan is completely anti-social he takes a lot longer than Dylan ever did to warm up to people.

You should see him when we go to Bill's Mamaw's house on Thanksgiving and Christmas. He knows these people, yet because the whole family is there at once, Jordan will spend the first half hour to an hour stuck against the wall willing people not to look or talk to him. Last time his cousin Brianna, who is also 3, wanted to play with him. He kept trying to hide from her and was telling her to , "Just stop it.". She then turned and asked me,"Why won't he play? Is he shy?" It was pretty cute.

You should be able to see Jordan's pictures at myonlineportraits.com. Hopefully by using the following:
